Royal Opera House

Work : Royal Opera House
Location: La Valetta. Malta
Architect: Renzo Piano

The Royal Opera House of Valletta was originally built between 1861 and 1866 by English architect Edward Middleton Barry. However, it was hit by aerial bombing during World War II and left in ruins. It thus remained until 2013, when it was restored by world-renowned architect Renzo Piano, who integrated the archaeological remains into a new open-air theatre project.

1000 m² of Ipe outdoor wood flooring was supplied for the floors, in the 95 x 25 size and machined into non-slip screwing profiles.

Currently, the Royal Opera House has become an architectural landmark of the Maltese capital, integrated into the "City Gate" general reconstruction project carried out between 2009 and 2015.
