In 2007, LÓPEZ PIGUEIRAS carried out one of its most distinctive jobs: 6,000m2 of Eucalyptus flooring,  75x17,  autoclave-treated, tinted white with an ultra-matt finish for the Provincial Museum of Pontevedra. The installer, Carpintería de Moreira, did a great job fitting the flooring, which for the exhibition rooms was designed in the form of squares with centred, sunken light fittings and rubber perimeter joints. Part of the walls and access doors were also covered, as well as the corridors. Now, four years on, the 2nd extension phase is being undertaken. And as  the flooring has been so popular, a further 2,500m2 are to be installed.

This is good news for proponents of indigenous wood with a certificate of sustainability, such as Eucalyptus, showing that with optimal drying and machining conditions, the result is a wood of a very high quality.
