Ifrane Palace Project
Work : Ifrane Palace Project
Owner: His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar
Location: Ifrane. Morocco
Type of installation: Directly glued on the screed, with radiant heating.
Throughout 2015, we worked in the manufacturing and installation of floors for a project that is singular both because of the wide variety of materials used and because of the technical complexity of its construction: the Palace of His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, built in Ifrane (Morocco). In addition to the Main Palace, the architectural ensemble comprises six chalets, a common meeting area (Majlis) and another area for relaxation with pools, spa and sauna.
INDOOR PRODUCTS
We manufactured 3,500 m² of wood for the installation of indoor flooring, mainly Oak with some rooms in Ash and Accoya. It is worth noting that floors are laid out into different shapes, with different ornaments, borders and chequerboard designs.
Over 500 m² were assembled throughout all the rooms in 14 different types of marquetry with inlaid work, laser cutting and combinations of woods such as Maple, Walnut, Cedar, Cherry, Wenge, Rosewood, Merbau and Birch, with some designs combining up to 1,250 pieces per m².
Combinations with other materials were also used, such as leather or marble.
The prior detail blueprints for the installation of floors and stairs were drawn by our technical office.
OUTDOOR PRODUCTS
We used 1,200 m² of Ipe wood for the installation of outdoor flooring in gardens, decks and pools of the complex.
LOCATION
The Moroccan city of Ifrane is located on the northwesternmost slope of the Middle Atlas, at 1,630 m above sea level. The width of its avenues, its impeccable cleanness, its numerous green areas and especially its architecture, more typical of an alpine city, have earned Ifrane the nickname "the Moroccan Switzerland". It is one of the most popular inland destinations for the urban elites of Morocco's major cities of Fez, Rabat and Casablanca.
